Study Common Gynecological Causes of Pelvic Pain In Women: Part 1 extra

Causes Of Constipation In Women

For women, pelvic pain and back pain can indicate a gynecological disorder. It is important to identify symptoms of reproductive conditions, as they can cause chronic pain, decrease the quality of your life and interfere with your ability to get pregnant if you so choose.

Endometriosis

This is one of the most common pelvic disorders that affect women, and, according to the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development's website, one of the top three causes of female infertility.

Endometriosis is characterized by the growth of tissue that surrounds the uterus beyond this organ. The tissue may grow in a number of places, but it most often found on or around other organs and structures within the pelvis, such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes.

As estrogen is released within the body to thicken the uterine lining in preparation for implantation, the tissues that have grown beyond the uterus also thicken and grow. When implantation does not occur and it is time to release the uterine lining in the menstrual flow, the tissues that have grown outside the uterus have no way to exit the body. The tissue that sheds may cause inflammation and scar tissue throughout the pelvis. The growing endometrial tissues can grow into the ovaries and cut off their connection to the fallopian tubes, interfering with fertility.

Common symptoms of endometriosis include:

Very painful menstrual cramps
Chronic pain in the pelvis and lower back
Pain during or after intercourse
Infertility

It is also possible, in some cases, to experience intestinal pain if the tissue growth or inflammation affects the intestines.

Endometriosis can be diagnosed by pelvic examination and ultrasound imaging. In some cases, a minor surgical procedure called laparoscopy may be needed to find endometrial tissue. The condition's cause is unknown, but could be related to genetics and hormone imbalance. The most prevalent treatment for the condition is hormone therapy. Lowering levels of estrogen in your body can reduce the growth and spread of endometrial tissue. You can help this process naturally by maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly and avoiding excess alcohol and caffeine intake.

Uterine Fibroids

Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous tumors that can grow from uterine tissue. The size and growth rate of fibroids vary from one woman to another. The Mayo Clinic estimates that 75% of women have fibroids at some point in their lives, but most don't know it as they can be asymptomatic. For some women, however, uterine fibroids can cause pelvic and back pain, bladder and bowel problems and infertility.

The most common symptoms of uterine fibroids are:

Heavy and/or prolonged menstrual bleeding
Pelvic pressure and pain, a feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen
Frequent or difficult urination
Constipation
Backache
Painful intercourse

Your symptoms largely depend on the position of the tumor. Women with fibroids that grow into the uterus likely have menstrual and fertility problems; fibroids that stick out of the uterus may press on the nearby bladder or on the rectum and spinal nerves behind the uterus.

As with endometriosis, an exact cause of fibroids is not known. Theories indicate that genetic alterations could be responsible for the multiplication of cells that compose uterine fibroids. These cells also contain more estrogen and progesterone receptors than healthy uterine cells, indicating that these hormones contribute to fibroid growth. Uterine fibroids are diagnosed by imagining tests, like ultrasound, the injection of dye in conjunction with X-rays or the use of a telescope inserted through the cervix. Hormone therapy is the most common treatment, but in severe cases surgery may be required to remove fibroids.

The above two causes of pelvic and back pain in women are usually not serious medical conditions and can be treated effectively with early detection. In Part 2 of this article, you can learn about two more causes of pelvic pain in women: adenomyosis and pelvic inflammatory disease.

What Causes Constipation?

Causes Of Constipation In Women

Though almost everyone experiences it at some time during their life, few people are aware of what causes constipation. But medical experts say understanding the condition and what leads to it can go a long way toward relieving it and preventing its return.

Generally defined as "a condition in which bowel movements are infrequent, difficult, or incomplete", constipation is the single most common gastrointestinal complaint in the US, effecting more than 4 million people and accounting for more than 2.5 million doctor visits annually.

Though in some cases irregularity is a symptom of a more serious condition, doctors say that most of the time it's not a serious health threat and can be traced to one of the following:

Diet is the most common cause of irregularity. People who eat a diet that is low in fiber and/or high in fats such as eggs, meat, and cheese are more susceptible to constipation. Dietary fiber, which is found in foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, beans, and seeds, promotes bowel movements and prevents constipation. Without sufficient fiber in the diet, waste products may move too slowly through the colon and result in stool that is hard, dry, and difficult to expel.

Insufficient liquid intake can lead to or worsen irregularity. Constipation occurs when the colon absorbs too much liquid from food as it passes through the system, so a deficiency of liquid in the diet can definitely be a factor. Sufficient liquid intake makes stool softer and easier to expel. It's important to note that not all liquids are equal, however; beverages such as alcoholic drinks and coffee or caffeinated soft drinks can actually deplete fluids from the body and lead to dehydration.

Lack of physical movement and exercise can be a factor. Though there is no absolute explanation for it, people who are sedentary rather than active are much more prone to irregularity and constipation.

Certain drugs and medications can cause irregularity. Many commonly prescribed medicines are known to cause constipation, including narcotic pain medications, diuretics, antidepressants, antispasmodics, antacids containing aluminum and calcium, anticonvulsants, and iron supplements.

Overuse of laxatives can lead to chronic irregularity problems. Though the occasional use of laxatives is definitely safe, taking them too often can actually lead to laxative dependence. Doctors say that daily bowel movements are not essential to health but many people believe they are, and take laxatives frequently to ensure that they have a daily movement. This can cause the body to become both accustomed to and dependent on laxatives, and the dosage will have to be continually increased.

Aging is one of the leading factors. Aging generally leads to a slowing of the metabolism and may also effect intestinal activity and muscle tone, so the body has more difficulty moving waste products through the colon. In addition, older people tend to have more sedentary lifestyles and may not include enough fiber or liquids in their diet.

Constipation

Constipation is one of the most reported gastrointestinal problems that affect large number of people around the world. A person who is suffering from constipation will experience hardened and unusual stool, problem in stool evacuation, and pain in bowel movements.

It can be comprehended in the terms of food and intestinal functionaries in human body. Once the food consumed, it moves into intestines where colons absorb water from it. Then by muscles movement the colon processed food and reaches the rectum in form of waste and rest is consumed as nutrients in the body. The waste which gathers in rectum is referred as stool and is hard as colon tends to absorb water from it. The problem of constipation arises when colons absorbed more than required water resulting into typically hard stool.

Symptoms- Most people consider a stage of constipation if they don't evacuate stool on daily basis but this is a misleading conception. Depending upon the immunity and bowel movement nature, the process for different human being may vary person to person. Constipation is more common in women and old people. The reason for this may be the lower metabolism rate.

Some of the common symptoms associated with constipation are tighten and painful bowel movement, difficulty in passing out stool, swollen and heavy abdomen, hardened and discolored stool, less than three bowel movements in a week and feeling of incomplete evacuation accompanied by stomach cramps.

Is Constipation a serious problem?

Constipation is indeed a symptom rather than a disease. The problem arises when it is not noticed. In initial stages it may not witness any serious problem. But if constipation get chronic and turns severe it may results into disease like hemorrhoid and strained bowel movements causes problems such as intestines rupturing, rectal bleeding and prolepses, anal fissures, fecal disorder etc.

Constipation is a condition that causes irregular bowel movements that are painful or difficult, or stools that are hard in consistency. Irregular bowel movements alone do not mean you are constipated because bowel frequency can vary between three times a day to once a week among normal people. Therefore, hard stools that are difficult to pass or infrequent stools accompanied by abdominal pain, back pain, and abdominal bloating define real constipation. Other symptoms of constipation include feeling bloated, uncomfortable, and sluggish. Constipation may be acute or chronic. Acute constipation begins suddenly and conspicuously. Chronic constipation may begin insidiously and persist for months or years.

The number of bowel movements usually get less with age. Ninety-five percent of adults have bowel movements between three and 21 times per week, and this is considered normal. The most common pattern is one bowel movement a day, but this pattern is seen in less than half of people. Moreover, most people are irregular and do not have bowel movements every day or the same number of bowel movements each day. A person with constipation often or always produces hard stools that may be difficult to pass. The person also may feel as though the rectum has not been completely emptied. Bowel movements are likely to be infrequent as well. Many people believe they are constipated if they do not have a bowel movement every day. However, daily bowel movements are not normal for everyone, and having less frequent bowel movements does not necessarily indicate a problem unless there has been a substantial change from previous patterns. The same is true of the color and consistency of stool; unless there is a substantial change, the person probably does not have constipation.

How to relieve constipation?

Even though constipation is an embarrassing subject, about which many refuse to talk this condition affects everyone at some point. In fact, some people live with chronic constipation. This is classified by persistent difficultly with passing stools. Many factors contribute to constipation. In some instances, the reasons are clear-cut and easily resolved by making certain dietary adjustments. For example, people with poor eating habits are more prone to constipation as opposed to a person who eats a healthy portion of fruits and vegetables. Of course, too much of a good thing can also cause problems. For this matter, consuming too much fiber may also cause constipation.

Constipation is defined as the condition in which a person finds difficulty in passing stools and has a bowel movement fewer than three times per week. These stools usually become dry and hard causing them difficult to eliminate. If treated on time constipation is not dangerous. But if left untreated it can become chronic. But how to treat or relieve constipation? This is the question asked by majority of the people suffering from constipation. Here is the answer for it. There are many ways for relieving constipation.

Diet is the most common home remedy for relieving constipation. Water is the best liquid for relieving constipation as it plays an important role in keeping the intestines working well. Drink a glass of water early in the morning or add a teaspoonful of honey in it and drink it at night before going to bed. Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water everyday. Keeping the water overnight in a copper vessel and drinking it in the morning gives better results. Take a glass of water with lemon juice and pinch of salt in it. Take a glassful of warm milk with a teaspoonful of ghee in it when going to bed. This also helps in relieving constipation.

However always consult your doctor or medical professional if if you are unwell.

Understand Constipation Could Be A Symptom of A Corn Allergy far more

Most people don't like to talk about constipation although many struggle with it on a nearly daily basis. It appears that large or hard bowel movements may be behind such things as advertisements for toilets that can flush 29 golf balls at once. To alleviate this painful and difficult condition, many turn to laxatives. While laxatives can work short term, they are not recommended for long term use. Additionally, chronic constipation can cause all sorts of other problems for your body. It's important to get to the root of the problem instead of relying on harsh medications.

Lifestyle changes such as eating more fruits like apples, walking or exercising more can all help alleviate constipation. Adding other foods like yogurt to your daily routine can also be a way to improve overall digestive health. If you've tried all of these things, but still have chronic constipation, your problem might actually be an undiagnosed food allergy such as a corn allergy.

Not everyone who is allergic to foods has constipation as a symptom, but some do. I've received many emails from people who are allergic to corn and suffered with severe constipation until they realized the problem and eliminated corn. Unfortunately, most people eat corn or a corn derivative at every meal, so it's hard to realize what the real cause of the constipation really is.

Infants who are allergic to corn can be particularly susceptible to constipation, especially if the baby is being fed formula. Most formulas are made with corn syrup solids or other corn derivatives that can cause constipation or abdominal pain, gas and bloating for the baby. New parents often don't understand that the formula is the cause of their baby's stomach aches and continue to feed their baby formula only to learn the cause of their infant's distress much later.

In addition to constipation problems, some people are so sensitive to corn that using toilet paper, which has corn starch in it, can cause problems. Some get a raw bottom, others get hives or sores. Wipes can also contain corn. If someone is this sensitive to corn, they will have to use water or cloth or both to clean themselves. Additionally, diapers or feminine products might cause similar reactions. Calling companies individually is the best way to confirm whether or not products contain corn. Unfortunately, many have found it necessary to call companies multiple times and proceed with caution when trying anything new. Often times the people answering the phones don't have enough information to answer questions correctly, so if your allergy is severe, you must be extremely careful.

Causes Of Constipation In Women

Relief from constipation relief can be a welcoming feeling if you are the one who is suffering from constipation. The most common gastrointestinal complaint in America is in fact constipation.

Constipation happens when your body waste remains in the colon for too long and too much water is absorbed into the intestines leaving a dry, hard stool which causes discomfort and can eventually lead to constipation. If the problem becomes sever enough, bowel movements may become uncomfortable, difficult and even painful. You may even experience bloating as a result of being constipated.

Many people feel that if they do not have a bowel movement once a day they are constipated.

This in fact is not true.

Regularity differs from person to person. For some, three bowel movements a day may be normal; while for others three a week may be the norm. Knowing what is normal for you can help relieve anxiety, however if you feel you are indeed constipated, there are several ways to get relief.

Prevention is the best form of relief.

A poor diet is one of the leading causes of constipation. A diet high in animal fat or refined sugar combined with not enough whole grains and vegetables are a couple eating habits that can lead to constipation.

Fiber is an essential nutrient to promote regular bowel movements. According to the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the average adult should get 20 to 35 grams of fiber every day. However, the ADA also reports that Americans currently take in only between 12 and 17 grams a day. Making it no wonder that constipation is the number one gastrointestinal complaint in America. Fiber helps to prevent excessive water absorption by the colon allowing your bowels to move the waste through the colon.

Constipation is also caused by certain medications. If you have started a medication and notice that you have become constipated talk with your doctor to see if he can change the dose or possibly put you on an alternative medication to give you constipation relief.

A lack of exercise can also lead to constipation. Becoming more active and mobile will help your bowels to move, resulting in constipation relief. It is important to go to the bathroom if you have the urge, as resisting the urge to have a bowel movement can cause constipation.

Severe cases of constipation may require laxative treatment.

Constipation relief is generally achieved with lifestyle change. Getting plenty of exercise, drinking sufficient amounts of water and eating a diet high in fiber can help you get constipation relief. If you are constipated, see your doctor to get the underlying cause of your constipation. With your doctors help you can obtain constipation relief.

Organic Juices For Constipation

Constipation

Organic fresh made juices have cleansing and laxative action, which will help you eliminate constipation. Taken regularly they will help you have daily bowel movements.

Organic juices contain loads of mineral, bioflavonoids, vitamins, enzymes, antioxidants, and other nutrients. Citric fruits have citric acid and the more tart they are the more acid they have.

Fresh juice is a fast way to get all types of nutrients into the blood quickly. As juice nutrients get into your blood, they suck out toxics and build up tissues. In your colon they destroy bad bacteria, feed wall tissue, pull out toxins, and have laxative action.

Even though juices provide helpful action throughout the body, it is best to limit their use and drink them in larger quantities only when trying to accomplish certain health benefits.

If you use natural foods with laxative effects, their laxative effect diminishes after long-term use.

If you have diabetes or adrenal fatigue, limit your use of fruits and juices when you first wake up in the morning. However, exercise in the morning will help you tolerate drinking some juices in the morning

When juicing fruits and vegetables, the more fiber that is left with the juice the better results you will get with your constipation.

It is always best to use fresh juices, but as a last resort using packaged juices will be better than not drinking anything.

Apples and Apple Juice

Apples are good for eliminating constipation because they are high in pectin, a soluble fiber, have many minerals, and contain sorbitol - a natural sugar, which stimulates peristaltic action. Pectin helps to detoxify the intestines and promote regular bowel movements.

The fiber in apples adds weight and bulk to your fecal matter and helps draw water from your colon into the fecal matter keeping the stool from becoming hard and thus preventing constipation.

Apples are one of best fruits to eat because they are high in minerals, which provide alkaline electrolytes to your body. What electrolytes do is neutralize acids that are created during illness, anxiety, anger, exercising, breathing pollution, and improper eating. Body acid is a major reason we get deadly diseases as we age

Make eating apples or drinking fresh apple juice a daily habit. They are also effective in liver and gallbladder problems.

Here's what to do.

Use crisp and hard apples such as granny smith, Fuji, or gala apples for juicing.

Drink three glass of apple juice during the day - morning, noon, and evening. In combination with drinking fresh apple juice, eat 3-4 apples each day to get fiber. The combination of eating and drinking apples juice will activate your colon to start moving stagnant matter.

One-day apple and apple juice fast

You can also do a one-day or two-day apple and apple juice fast by, eating 3-4 apples during the day. Drink apples juice every two hours. Don't eat anything until the next morning. Then, start changing your eating habits as listed in some of my other articles.

Blueberries

Blue berries can act as a laxative for some people despite its use to stop diarrhea. These berries have chemicals, anthocyanosides that can kill bacteria and viruses

Causes Of Constipation In Women

Causes Of Constipation In Women

Constipation simply means that you open your bowels less frequently than you ordinary do along with having to strain to cause movement in the bowel tract. Given our toiletry habits vary significantly from individual to individual with some people passing faeces only two or three times a week to some individuals who are regular as two or three times a day, classifying yourself as constipated is very much a personal judgment.

If we first take a moment to picture what intestine actually looks like which is a long muscular tube along which food travels through muscular contraction not dissimilar to the way toothpaste squeezed from tube. Nutrients and fluids are taken from the food along its journey and its movement is influenced by several factors. Alterations to actions which influence your bowel movements may lead to constipation including;

1. Age - as we grow older we are more prone to constipation

2. Diet - a lack of fibre and fluids in your diet can cause constipation.

3. Exercise - how active our bodies are directly correlates to to how active bowel movements are.

4. Medication - numerous drugs including common pain relief medication may lead to constipation of your bowels.

5. Hormonal changes - this is particularly relevant to pregnant women

If simple changes to your dietary habits and your lifestyle do to not help alleviate the problems you may be able to take some form of medication. Many of these constipation remedies are available over the counter from your pharmacy and ordinarily comprise of bulk forming laxatives which are ideal for individuals who cannot obtain enough fibre in their diet and have a progressive issue with constipation.

There are also fecal softeners which help to soften your stools thereby making them easier to pass. Stimulant laxatives are also available over the counter and are effective by increasing your bowl contractions which can start to take effect within a few hours or so.

Study A Guide To Obtaining Constipation and Bloating Relief much more

About 4 million Americans complain about constipation annually. Constipation is the irregular movement of bowels. This is because your stools are hard and you experience difficulty in passing them. When you do move your bowels, you may also get the feeling of incomplete evacuation. Constipation is triggered by insufficient water and fiber intake. Unhealthy diets and eating too much meat and unprocessed foods are all a precursor to constipation.

What is considered a regular bowel movement? The normal bowel movement of a healthy adult varies between 3 and 21 times a week. A healthy adult should pass at least one bowel movement a day. Less than three bowel movements is medically a condition of constipation and less than one bowel movement in a week is acute constipation.

Constipation can lead to bloating, which is the swelling of the abdomen. Bloating is simply a condition whereby the stomach becomes overstretched by excessive gas content.
Constipation and bloating relief should be addressed, as lack of effective treatment can lead to several other diseases.

Stagnant stools which cannot be effective cleared and therefore stored in your colon can give rise to several harmful bacteria. These bacteria can create inflammation on the colon linings, which then lead to colon cancer. In acute constipation, the bacteria from colon can enter other parts in the digestive system. These hamper your entire digestive process. Other symptoms that emerge include eczema, acne, skin problems, headaches, a lowered immune system and mood changes.

So how do you obtain constipation and bloating relief? There are several natural methods for constipation and bloating relief. Constipation is directly associated with what you eat. A fiber rich diet is the most common remedy. Fiber retains water in the stools and also increases the size of it as this can lead to their easy passage. A fiber rich diet also helps in the growth of good bacteria. Psyllium is high in soluble fiber and consuming psyllium with large amounts of water provides much constipation and bloating relief.

Prunes are also highly recommended. Prune contains large amount of potassium which stimulates the linings of colon and this leads to easy bowel movements. Potassium also cleans the fecal matter attached to the colon linings. Thus, you may wish to consider having more prunes for constipation and bloating relief.

In addition, you should include more vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber and tomato in your diet. These vegetables are rich in potassium and should help you with your bowel movements. Fruits like pineapple also contains large amount of potassium.

Herbs like aloe, senna, buckthorn and frangula are proven natural remedies for constipation. Flax seed and Rhubarb are other two herbs that can provide much constipation and bloating relief. Most of these herbs are available in the market. Some of these herbs have high laxative properties. You should therefore use them only taking professional advice.

Thus, it can be seen that there are many ways to obtain constipation and bloating relief. You should not allow your constipation to go untreated. Accumulating toxic waste in your body can only create problems later. Start making some changes to your eating and lifestyle habits from today!

A Guide To Obtaining Constipation and Bloating Relief

Study Symptoms And Causes Of Prolapse Bladder more

The bladder is one of the major body organs. This is a cavernous like organ that stores urine until the urethra releases it out of the body organism. A prolapse bladder, also known as fallen bladder or cystocele is common in women because it involves the bladder and the vagina.

The bladder supports the wall of the vagina. During childbirth, the vagina's wall weakens or can be injured thus, affecting the work of the bladder. Aging can also loosen this wall causing the bladder to prolapse.

Prolapse bladder symptoms

There are many causes of a prolapse bladder but women who agonize from this condition should recognize the symptoms to search out direct treatment. It is crucial to consult your doctor on a regular basis because symptoms for mild cases are at times hidden.

The earliest forewarning of prolapse symptoms is a sense of fullness or pressure in the vagina. This is the initial step of prolapsed bladder. This tissue may protrude within the vagina and might bleed. Discomfort and pain in the pelvic vicinity and trouble in urinating may possibly be symptoms of prolapse bladder. In an advanced stage of this condition, bladder infections can be numerous which might affect other body organs.

Lower back pains can also be experienced and patients can suffer stress incontinence, a circumstance wherein you lose urinary control when coughing and sneezing. In the more serious stages, urination can no longer be controlled.

Prolapse Bladder Stages

Prolapsed bladder has 4 stages or grades

Grade 1 - is a mild stage wherein a small part of the bladder sags into the vagina.

Grade 2 - When the bladder sags down into vagina's entrance, the prolapse is considered moderate.

Grade 3 - It is severe once the bladder extends outside the vagina's entrance.

Grade 4 - This stage is called complete when the entire bladder obtrudes the vagina's exterior section.

Prolapse Bladder Causes

For the period of pregnancy and childbirth, the muscles that buoy up the vagina are stretched, causing the organ to grow weaker and deteriorate. Prolapsed bladder is common in women who have several child births.

Strain can initiate this situation in particular for those who lift heavy objects. Strain caused by continuous and prolonged bowel movement abnormalities such as constipation could damage the ligaments and pelvis muscle.

Long term coughing or sneezing might also be associated in pelvic flood weakening which can bring about prolapse bladder. Menopausal period is an additional factor that affects the bladder. Women with menopause can have this condition because they quit producing estrogen, a feminine hormone that strengthens the vagina's muscle.

Tests and Examinations

As an wise saying states "Prevention is better than cure". It is important to implement an annual exam to test for troubles in the bladder. But if symptoms are apparent, it would be best to take tests and exams to find out the depth of this situation. There are many tests that you could take to assess the seriousness of this condition.

Voiding cystourethrogram is a progression of x-ray pictures used by doctors to clarify the condition of the bladder and root of urinary difficulty. Cystoscope is also performed to check on care options. Accurate identification of the depth of this condition with a sequence of tests and exams will help doctors learn the proper treatment procedure.

That is why we are continually advised to have recurrent check ups so that we are updated about our medical status. The doctor constantly advises us to be more preventative. Occasionally if we are not updated with our condition we set ourselves at risk.

Treatment and Care

A prolapse bladder in the mild stage requires basic treatment. It can be a self-care option as long as measures are in use methodically. Seeing as this condition involves the bladder plus the vagina, there is a necessity to fortify the pelvic muscles via exercises and correct diet.

A course of action called pessary may be integrated in the treatment wherein a rubber ring is inserted in the vagina to cradle the bladder. Doctors also recommend taking estrogen to bolster the pelvic floor muscles. Estrogen can be taken by mouth or by using vaginal ointment for women in menopause.

There can also be the occasion that the prolapse bladder leads to surgery so it is always best to consult your doctor if you encounter one or more of the symptoms.

Read Role of Coffee in Constipation Troubles far more

It has an acidic effect and that naturally causes bowels to move irregularly and triggers constipation symptoms. Though it deceitfully looks like a laxative, it has the tendency to do just the opposite. It is the best known irritant of the gastrointestinal tract and naturally once coffee is ingested it starts its role of irritating the tract and causing constipation problems.

When you get out of our warm bed sheet of yours and think of the day ahead you already would have an uneasy feeling at the pit of the stomach. That is only natural in the early morning messy schedule. Well, to calm the nerves and feel afresh if you ingest some caffeine then you have invited trouble. The caffeine hits right where it should not hit and messes it up double the time than it was supposed to. Your morning is ruined. The worst part is the ignorance of people. It is okay if people do not understand that coffee would cause constipation, but it is really awful to know that they do not understand that coffee is not the cure for constipation. Almost everybody who has this problem thinks that coffee is a boon and it is an instant reliever of constipation problems. Of course, it is anything but true. There are others who know that this problem exists and they conveniently shift to decaffeinated coffee. That's the height of ignorance. The coffee bean in whatever form is going to irritate your gastrointestinal tract. Decaffeinated coffee does not much for your digestive system either and it also would welcome constipation with open arms.

There is an easy substitute for coffee. We are talking about tea here. Yes. You can try that to keep yourself fresh and get an almost coffee-induced feeling in the morning and evening. It may not be the same feeling or taste for one used to caffeine, but it is at least healthy and helpful. Coffee constipation happens to almost every second caffeine addict or routine consumer. They just don't stop with constipation. There are abdominal spasms that occur and they are very uncomfortable. Abdominal spasms will freeze your activities of daily living for a while and wouldn't settle down that easily. Abdominal spasm attacks are embarrassing too as you have to hold your stomach and squat. Well, if there is a crowd around that sure would not make a pretty picture.

There is this urgency feeling that you may experience below the belt when you have coffee. If you are prone to constipation problems just do not touch the caffeine products and yes, make sure you do not touch them even if they come in different flavors and names not even decaffeinated ones. Because these products just do not cause constipation, but also diarrhea. Next time you wake up to a bedside coffee make sure that you wash it down the sink. It isn't going to help you freshen up.

Read through Migraines Have Many Causes - Is Fat on Your Belly Causing Your Migraine Headaches? much more

Migraine headaches have many causes, but here's a possible new "cause."  Belly fat has been linked to migraine headaches by researchers.  Yes, belly fat.

Researchers from the Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia found women with more belly fat had 29% more likelihood of migraines than slimmer women.  B. Lee Peterlin, researcher, said, "This does not suggest that if you lose your extra abdominal fat it will cure your migraines."  The heavier men in the study had more migraines than the slimmer men, but the margin was smaller.

In order to get a "clean" research result, everyone must follow the same protocol and steps.  No researcher participant can look at other aspects of a problem outside of the immediate one being researched.  That would cause the results to be inaccurate.  This means that research has limitations.  No study can look at all sides of an issue.

Well, as it happens, I've suffered with lots and lots of migraines.  Over the years, I've learned a great deal about what causes migraine headaches and what we can do to relieve them naturally.

So, here are some of my thoughts about this "belly fat" issue and migraines.

1.  Is it possible that the women with heavier midsections had more estrogen?  My understanding is that estrogen can also come from body fat.  In some women, estrogen contributes to migraines.  Estrogen also helps us pack on fat.

2.  Perhaps the people with more belly fat were constipated.  Constipation causes migraines.  Is it possible they ate more of the types of foods, artificial sweeteners or beverages that cause constipation and migraine?  Those foods might cause weight gain.  Also, many migraine medications cause constipation.

3.  Or, maybe these study participants had more belly fat because they moved their legs less.  If they walked more (which also helps relieve constipation) would they have fewer migraines?

4.  If the women and men with more belly fat in the study move less than the thinner people, is that because their heads hurt more?  If so, is that why they had more midsection fat?

5.  There are people who try to "eat their migraine."  In an effort to lessen their symptoms, they stuff themselves.  Eating sometimes causes some relief.  Were the heavier people the ones who tried to control their migraines by eating more than they needed?

6.  Is it possible the heavier women and men moved less because they had poorer posture or perhaps scoliosis?  Poor posture is a very common cause of migraines and headaches and so is scoliosis (curvature of the spine.)

What is Constipation?

Constipation is a very common condition affecting many people. It tends to affect more women than men. It appears to be especially common in women just before their period or during pregnancy. It is normally not very serious although occasionally, complications can occur if the condition is not treated.

What Causes Constipation?

Constipation can be caused by a number of different factors. A number of which are described below.

The main cause is believed to be a lack of fluids in the diet. The stools then become hard and small which the body struggles to expel. A lack of fibre also has the same effect. What then happens, is that the stools which the body can't expel are retained where they dry out even further and then work their way back up into the colon where they can cause a blockage.

Some drugs e.g. painkillers and some types of cough medicines may cause constipation. By taking medical laxatives which my relieve the symptoms in the short term may actually increase the problem as the body becomes resistant to them over time.

There are a number of other causes which include

Not being active

Too much calcium or too much iron in your diet

Drinking too much strong tea or coffee which has a diuretic effect by making you urinate more often thus dehydrating your body

Bowel muscles not being strong enough - this is more common in elderly people as their muscles in their whole body become weaker

Recent abdominal surgery - this may have the effect of weakening your bowel muscles

Anxiety

IBS can be a cause of constipation.

What are the Symptoms of Constipation?

The symptoms of constipation are as follows.

Stomach ache and cramps

Feeling bloated

Feeling sick

Change in your normal bowel pattern

Headaches

Furred tongue

Loss of appetite

Fatigue and depression

Should you experience any of these conditions and they are with you for more than a couple of days, it is important that you see a doctor. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Sometimes these symptoms could mean something much more serious.

What is the Treatment for Constipation?

Quite often, the best treatment for constipation, is simply to increase the amount of fibre in your diet. That includes lots of vegetables and cereal products. Most of us don't eat enough of these things.

Also, increasing the amount of water that we drink can help to relief the symptoms of constipation. The vast majority of people don't drink enough. By drinking more, you can not only relieve the symptoms of constipation, but it will improve your general health as well, making you feel better.

By taking more exercise, you can help to eradicate constipation. This can be something as simple as a 30 minute brisk walk 3 - 4 times a week.

If you are going to take laxatives, then they should only be as a temporary measure. If you find that you are having to take them for a long period of time, you should probably go and visit a doctor.

Examine The Pros and Cons of In-Vitro Fertilization a lot more

What is In-Vitro Fertilization?

In-vitro fertilization is a procedure that allows couples who cannot conceive normally to have a child. The woman's egg and man's sperm are taken out of the body and fertilized in a laboratory, then put back into a woman who can carry the pregnancy to term.

Many moral and ethical concerns have been raised because of in-vitro fertilization. Those against the procedure say it is too much like playing God. Many women, however, have successfully delivered healthy babies as a result of in-vitro fertilization. Only you can decide if this procedure is the right one for you.

What are the Chances of Success with In-Vitro Fertilization?

"The chance of successful pregnancy with in vitro fertilization is directly related to the age of the woman who provides the egg. Most in vitro fertilization programs divide up their success rates according to age. For example, clinics will report pregnancy rates for women under and over the age of 35 years. There is certainly deterioration in the quality of eggs from the mid-thirties onwards. Some clinics divide up success rates further, and specifically report pregnancy rates for women between the ages of 35 and 37, 38 and 39, 39 to 42, and then over the age of 42.:
- Victoriafertility web site, August 2006

In-vitro has enjoyed a good success rate. Some in-vitro procedures have been too effective, with women giving birth to twins, triplets, or even more babies at once. It's a good idea to try the process with three or fewer eggs, on the chance that all the eggs will become successfully fertilized and produce children. In-vitro is a viable option for women who cannot naturally conceive.

What are the Dangers of In-Vitro Fertilization?

"One of the commonest serious side effects from using fertility drugs is a condition known as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome becomes a risk in women who develop more than 20 follicles in response to the fertility drugs. In these circumstances the blood estrogen levels are often very high, and this combination causes OHSS."
- Victoriafertility web site, August 2006

The most common danger of in-vitro is that it will not work. It is very disappointing and depressing for a couple who has tried many methods, only to fail again at in-vitro. There is nothing to suggest that in-vitro fertilization will make natural conception easier or harder for the woman in the future. Medically, the procedure is fairly safe. There is some pain associated with the process of removing the woman's eggs, however, and there is a surgical procedure involved.

If you are considering in-vitro fertilization, it's best to discuss your options with your doctor. In-vitro can be a rather invasive procedure. You'll want to know what your chances are of having a successful pregnancy using this method before you decide to go ahead with in-vitro.

The Pros and Cons of In-Vitro Fertilization

Each woman has to make the decision regarding in-vitro for herself, with the support of her spouse. Many couples face reproductive challenges, and it's a very common problem that is nothing to be ashamed of. Learn all about your own chances of success with in-vitro before you decide to go through with the procedure, which can be very costly and very invasive to a woman's body. How much you want to conceive will determine whether or not in-vitro fertilization is right for you.

Constipation is a common problem but one that can be easily remedied with a simple lifestyle change.

The irony is that most people don't realize they are constipated. The reason is because of doctors. They say that a normal bowel movement should be two or three a week! If you do have this, you think your normal. In reality you are constipated.

You should have at least two a day. The ideal is one after every meal. So if you eat three times a day, as most people do, you should have three bowel movements a day.

Without regular bowel movements, toxins build up, and this can lead to all kinds of diseases. Constipation can also increase your risk of hemorrhoids (fecal impaction).

Though millions of people have constipation is easy to relieve.

To take care of any condition, you have to go to the cause. So, what causes constipation?

Constipation is do mainly to a poor diet - one that lacks processed foods, sugar and fresh vegetables. You must have food high in fiber. Fiber helps move the bulk through your intestines and promotes regular bowel movements.

Other common causes

believe it or not laxative can cause constipation - when used to excess. Most laxitaves are chemical in nature. When taken regularly, you intestines rely on it. Eventually, your intestines can fail to work properly.

An under-active thyroid glad is a common cause, too. This is known as hypothyroidism.

IBS, otherwise known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, is when your colon works slow and the contents cannot move through your digestive tract fast enough.

Do you ignore the 'urge to go'? This is another cause of a sluggish bowel movement.

Why Laxatives are NOT a Good Option

$750,000,000 a year is spent on laxatives - money don't the toilet, you can say!

This is true even of senna or cassia laxatives, which are frequently marketed as natural, but they are not. If taken for a couple of months, it may decrease your colon's natural ability to contract. These over the counter laxatives can damage nerves, muscles and other tissues in your large intestines.

So if you absolutely must use a laxative, make sure it is only for a very short-term period. And remember that laxatives do absolutely nothing to address the underlying causes of your constipation.

Go through 3 Most Common Internal Hemorrhoids Causes in Men and Women a lot more

Causes Of Constipation In Women

The majority of men and women might at one point in their lives have internal hemorrhoids. This condition is very common in pregnant women, but other women and men get them too. So, having said that, what are the three most common internal hemorrhoids causes in both, men and women?

Most common causes

Cause No.1:

Chronic constipation is definitely the first of the three most common causes of hemorrhoids, and is one of the things you need to watch if you think you might be having hemorrhoids. This is because straining happens consistently due to the difficulty of the bowel movement. The result of straining due to chronic constipation is the extending of the tissues that maintain the veins in the anus. Therefore an overhang of those veins occurs and hemorrhoids develop. The treatment for hemorrhoids for this common cause is to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink more water. Only when the constipation is gone, the hemorrhoids can disappear. So in this case, constipation is what needs most attention, not the hemorrhoids itself.

Cause No.2:

A too low in fiber diet is also one of the most common causes of internal hemorrhoids. This is because a shortage of fiber causes difficulty in bowel movements as your stools are harder which means more straining and therefore forcing too much pressure on the anal veins. A hemorrhoids treatment for this particular common cause would be to add more fiber to your diet; approximately 30 grams. But be careful and make sure you don't overdo it with fiber or your stools will harden as well.

Cause No.3:

And the third most common hemorrhoids cause is lack of exercise. If you started to watch people and knew who of them have internal hemorrhoids, you would notice very soon that most of them do not exercise too much. And that actually creates the problem! Prolonged sitting will cause hemorrhoids to develop due to water being immersed from your stool which leads to constipation. The hemorrhoids home treatment for this is to exercise often and make sure you don't sit for too long at a time!

It's important to know the most common causes of internal hemorrhoids but it's also essential to make sure you start making lifestyle changes right away. Internal hemorrhoids can be painful and it's crucial to change what you can like exercising often, eating relatively healthy and drinking lots of water.

Understand Do Bananas Cause Constipation? We Explain the Truth Once and For All extra

Do Bananas Cause Constipation? We Explain the Truth Once and For All

Causes Of Constipation In Women

A common question posed by constipation sufferers is: "do bananas cause constipation?" This article explores this topic in more depth and seeks to give you the answer to this often asked question, once and for all.

Interestingly, this question does not have a simplified "yes" or "no" response. The truth of the matter is that bananas can help fend off issues with constipation just as easily as consuming them can be a source of constipation.

Facts

Bananas are very high in soluble fiber which, in some cases, helps to move the bowels through the intestinal tract so bananas can be helpful in eliminating constipation issues.
Bananas contain an ingredient identified as pectin and the pectin is the source of fiber in bananas.
Consuming a single banana offers you more than fifteen percent of the entire daily fiber intake you require.
The ripeness of a banana will determine whether or not it will make you constipated when it is consumed.
The potassium in ripe bananas helps to alleviate diarrhea since it replaces needed electrolytes.
Fructooligosaccharide are found in bananas; an enzyme producing compound that assists in natural digestion and hinders the fermentation of bananas once inside the intestinal tract; this helps to prevent constipation in some cases.

Unripe Bananas

When bananas are green, consuming them can cause you to become constipated. The unripe bananas or Plantains are far more difficult for your body to digest; they are also bitter to the taste due to the tannin in the green bananas. Since Plantains are more difficult on the digestive tract, the green banana variants may move into the intestinal tract and cause a binding effect in the bowels. These types of bananas are also filled with heavy starches, which can also contribute to constipation.

How Many Bananas Should You Consume?

You should definitely consume bananas in moderation; one, but no more than two bananas per day is recommended to maintain healthy bowel movements. The bananas that you do decide to consume should be yellow with several blackened spots on them; this indicates the banana's ripeness. You might want to start with a single banana daily to see how the bananas affect your system.

Study An Inside Look at the Real Causes of Toddler Constipation additional

Causes Of Constipation In Women

Constipation is a painful condition for adults that can be handled effectively with an all natural constipation treatment and some modification to diet. However, baby constipation can be a true nightmare because parents have difficulty to know when the condition is even present.

Normally, several days pass with no bowel movement before parents start to believe that toddler constipation may be present. Therefore, parents will know within 2 or 3 days if toddler constipation exists. The presence of hard or dry stool should be considered a warning sign particularly if the child seems to be in pain or having difficulty when having a bowel movement.

But did you realize what really causes toddler constipation and can anything be done to prevent it?

Causes of toddler constipation are normally the same as with adults such as not getting enough water or liquids thus lead to difficulty in having a bowel movement. A constipation diet that is low in fiber also causes constipation in baby and modifications may have to be made if this is suspected as a potential source of the problem.

Also waiting too long between bowel movements will cause baby constipation just like with adults.

Another factor for toodler constipation may be too much milk. Because babies lack certain enzymes essential to break down the proteins found in formula or milk. Breastfed babies rarely develop toddler constipation, however, breast milk has several properties than store-bought milk.

So once baby constipation is present, your toddler will naturally suffer until the condition goes away completely. Such cases, it will be necessary to essentially force a bowel movement as a way to end the infant's constipation at the same time the cycle causing it.

Constipation laxatives made with chemicals are simply not an option with baby constipation due to the difficulty administering the laxative relief as well as their effect upon the body. Gentle suppositories, generally are suggested for toddlers because they are easy to administer. But, any constipation cure used to treat toddler constipation should use all-natural ingredients as they are gentler on the body and lead to less side effects. Should the toddler constipation persist beyond 3 to 4 days, it is highly recommended that you take the child to a doctor in order to eradicate the blockage and check for physical causes of the condition.

Constipation is when an individual goes to the toilet less often than usual or when it is difficult to pass a motion. For some people 'regular' may be twice a day, for others it can be three times a week.

It can be one of the most uncomfortable gastrointestinal problems. Many people only experience constipation for a short period of time with no lasting effects on their health. For others, it can be a chronic, long-term condition which can cause significant pain and discomfort.

Symptoms vary between individuals, with the most common ones including:
- Fewer bowel motions than usual
- Having to strain to pass a motion
- Pain when passing a motion
- Passing motions that are dry and hard, like rabbit pellets (especially common in babies)
- A feeling of incomplete bowel emptying
- Bloating, nausea and sometimes vomiting

Constipation doesn't just cause gastrointestinal symptoms and some people also experience lethargy, headaches and a general feeling of being unwell.

Who is most likely to suffer from constipation?
Constipation affects twice as many women than men, and is more common in the elderly. Approximately 40% of pregnant women experience constipation at some point during their pregnancy.

Bottle fed babies often suffer from constipation because formula milk is harder for them to digest than breast milk. Their stools tend to be thicker and have a different, more greenish colour.

What causes constipation?
Common causes of constipation include:

- Lack of liquid and dehydration

- Lack of fibre

- Inactivity

- Stress

- Ignoring the urge to go to the toilet

Some medications and medical conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome, can also bring on symptoms, as can changes in the environment, such as going on a holiday or going to hospital.

How can constipation be treated?
Symptoms of constipation can usually be managed through simple diet and lifestyle changes alone. These include:

- taking regular exercise

- drinking at least eight glasses of water a day

- eating a high fibre diet with brain cereals and whole grains

- eating at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day

- keeping stress to a minimum

- not ignoring the urge to go to the toilet

In babies, massaging the stomach, moving the legs in a cycling motion, a warm bath and giving the baby cool, boiled water can all help to relieve symptoms.

If an individual is not responding to the above, they should seek advice from their pharmacist or GP who may be able to prescribe suitable laxatives or a fibre supplement.

In cases of severe abdominal pain, vomiting or passing blood in bowel motions, a General Physician should be consulted as soon as possible.

Constipation

Anybody who has had to deal with pain caused by constipation will agree that it is a highly uncomfortable feeling that effects you throughout the day. In severe cases, the pain can become acute. Constipation can occur to anyone, from newborns, to the elderly, and everywhere in between.

While there are medicines available that will help quickly cure the gas, bloating, and pain of constipation, these medicines can also be unpredictable and cause a new set of problems that may leave you stuck with in arms distance of a bathroom.

Like with many other physical ailments, it can be argued that the best offense is a good defense; and by that I mean trying to prevent constipation from ever occurring.

For good health in general watching the foods you eat is a good idea, but this natural remedy is not about what you eat, but what you drink. Drinking adequate amounts of water are a key factor to help prevent constipation.

Water, Juice (Prune juice is an ideal choice), and Tea can all help. Coffee can help in certain cases as the caffeine gives you body a jolt that often times will be solution, though coffee can also leave your body dehydrated. Soda is a bad idea to drink in general, let along when trying to prevent constipation. The gas of any carbonated beverage will only add to the problem.

I have talked with many who do not like to drink water, and rightfully claim that Juice has a lot of unwanted sugars. Tea is a very good idea in this case. There are many types of tea to drink, though I personally recommend Lemongrass tea when trying to prevent constipation. It tastes like lemons, it aides your digestion, you can drink it hot as well as iced (using little to no sugar depending on how you like it), and it is highly refreshing. You can make a pitcher with 1 or 2 tea bags, which will last for 2 or 3 days, maybe even longer. Most importantly, the added hydration will help you body's digestive system run smoothly, helping to prevent constipation.
